What should I do about minor pus around my areola stitching 5 weeks post op breast lift and reduction?

From your description alone, it is difficult to determine exactly what is causing this drainage. It may be consistent with a spitting suture, which your plastic surgeon's office will be able to address. I recommend that you follow up with your plastic surgeon for an in-person follow up to ensure that there is no infection at this area and to determine if any further treatment is necessary. 

Thank you for questionGeneral if you have "pus" there would be redness and/or irritation, your would have tenderness at the site, and possible fever, or an unpleasant door from the tapes.  These would be indications of an infection for which you should consult your plastic surgeon.  However, if you are maintaining the incisions clean and dry, the hole with you see may be the suture that has come through the skin.  This may require removal or trimming.  This should be done by the nurse, at your next appointment.best of luck  

Its possible one of your dissolvable sutures has made its way to the surface of your skin and “popped” out causing a minor irritation or small wound breakdown.  This typically resolves without any intervention.  I recommend my patients shower twice daily and dry the breast with a hair dryer on the lowest setting before applying a simple dressin

It’s hard to recommend anything without photos, but if there’s pus coming out of it, please consult your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon so that it can be examined and to make sure it’s not infected.

A photo would enable us to answer your question more accurately.  It could be a minor skin infection or more commonly, spitting stitches which heal without issues.Dr T
