In your case, lipoosuction is the better option. However, there are other factors that you should consider in order to improve your neck and jawline. if you are interested in making a significant difference, I would recommend a combination of liposuction, chin implant or genioplasty, and platysmaplasty. Otherwise, liposuction alone will not make that significant a difference. All three of the procedures can be accomplished together so you have one recovery.
We have a lot of options to treat this area. Full disclosure, I am a surgeon and definitely prefer to remove this fat and send it down the Mississippi! That being send I always offer the nonsurgical options such as fat dissolving injections, coolsculpting and evoke. We are just able to get such good results in younger patients with direct sculpting with one procedure and minimal downtime it is hard to pass up. It really is one of my favorite procedures.Find a surgeon you trust and be clear with your goals.Best of luck,DrC
Dear Tough4551,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Liposuction is a far better option than chemical fat destruction. The recovery is easier, the procedure is more effective, more predictable, more accurate and effective. To me there’s no reason why someone would not choose Liposuction.I do chin and neck Liposuction in the office with patients awake on a regular basis with consistent high-quality results.Patients look presentable immediately.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
You have a significantly underdeveloped lower jaw. The lack of definition both in profile and frontally is important, since you will note the very obtuse angle under the chin to the neck. Consider further treatment of the chin to extend that distance; and certainly chose liposuction over drug injection for accuracy, success and comfort
