Feeling like something is in my breast

Question

Had reduction done in 1998 and immediately after felt like something is in my right breast. Also feeling of tugging. This comes and goes but when I am dealing with it, it messes with my mental health where I would like to cut the breast off. Definitely interfere with my daily living.

The best way to make sure that your breast is fine is to get an MRI done and also discuss this feeling with your surgeon, who can examine you, discuss the techniques used and help you with all your concerns You may also want to see a Psychologist to help you with your mental health. Breast reduction create scars both external and internal.  I would discuss it with your surgeon if that is still a possibility 26 years later, or at least get an imaging study of the breast to insure all is normal underneath.

You are not very clear about your issues. Go visit with your primary care physician first and get a mammogram and/or ultrasound to check that breast and discuss any mental health issues as well.

Since your breast reduction was over 25 years ago it is difficult to determine if the sensations you are reporting are related to your reduction or not.  Have you had it evaluated over the years?  Have you had any testing done to determine if the sensations are from scar tissue, nerve related, etc? I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon for an exam.

Breast reduction surgery is pretty complex.
In order to do the procedure, the breast is subdivided into different sections and tissues removed from each segment.
This includes fat, breast, tissue and skin.
This is going to leave people with internal scar tissue that can have certain sensations including areas of firmness or potential tugging sensations.
This is pretty normal and most people get accustomed to surgical changes and they become the new baseline normal.
You can certainly have a second opinion consultation with plastic surgeons in your community to get an assessment.
You didn’t include your age but it may possibly be time to get mammograms as well.
Obsessing over surgical changes tends to not be helpful and can make the situation worse. 
Most patients have fairly high patient satisfaction after breast reduction surgery. The relief of symptoms generally clearly outweighs potential negative side effects for most patients.
