Could a rhinoplasty correct my wide, upturned nose? (Photos)

Rhinoplasty would enhance the effect of your jaw surgery.  Enhancements should include tip refinement surgery, and perhaps adding some dorsal height as well.  Preventing upward tip rotation will give the appearance of  a more elegant nose.

photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty to decrease your nasal tip width.  You may also benefit from derotation and deprojection of your nasal tip.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and not just a computer animation system. The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate
you in person.

Thank you for your question. If you are unhappy with your nasal appearance, rhinoplasty could provide you with a more refined, slimmer lower portion of your nose. The most important step is to fine a doctor who is an expert in rhinoplasty. Consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss your options.

A rhinoplasty can make the changes that you desire in you nose.  You will need further radiographic analysis to diagnose your problem and arrive at a plan for correction.  I would seek a plastic surgeon familiar with craniofacial procedures and specifically rhinoplasty.

 A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish turning the tip downwards, building up the bridge line of the nose, and  narrowing the width of the entire nose. Thick skin in the tip of the nose will prevent refinement in that area, so it's important to have realistic expectations. My short answer...Absolutely!  Reducing the width of the tip of the nose can give you a more defined nasal tip which is narrower, less upturned with more symmetrical and narrower nostrils. Your jaw surgery likely gave you a more upturned nasal tip which makes your nose look shorter. Adding length to the dorsum can de-rotate your nose and make it less upturned. A thorough examination is required to be more specific, but I think your goals are very realistic. John Standefer MD.

Based upon the photos you provided, I believe you are a candidate for Rhinoplasty with nasal bridge refinement and nasal tip correction.  It is critical to select a board certified rhinoplasty specialist - one with training and experience specific to the face - and one with numerous before/after photos with results you like.  You would definitely benefit from digital computer imaging during your consultation so you can get a good idea of what your nose will realistically look like after.  This also helps establish an agreed upon game plan with your surgeon.
