Could a rhinoplasty correct my wide, upturned nose? (Photos)

Question

Hi! In 2013 I had corrective jaw surgery (upper and lower jaws) which left my nose wider and more upturned than before. My nose is also somewhat "round" and my nostrils seem to look uneven. I would like for my nose to be a bit slimmer and come to a more defined point at the tip without being so upturned. Would this be possible with a rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty would enhance the effect of your jaw surgery.  Enhancements should include tip refinement surgery, and perhaps adding some dorsal height as well.  Preventing upward tip rotation will give the appearance of  a more elegant nose.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your
photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty to decrease your nasal tip width.  You may also benefit from derotation and deprojection of your nasal tip.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and not just a computer animation system. The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate
you in person.

Thank you for your question. If you are unhappy with your nasal appearance, rhinoplasty could provide you with a more refined, slimmer lower portion of your nose. The most important step is to fine a doctor who is an expert in rhinoplasty. Consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss your options.

A rhinoplasty can make the changes that you desire in you nose.  You will need further radiographic analysis to diagnose your problem and arrive at a plan for correction.  I would seek a plastic surgeon familiar with craniofacial procedures and specifically rhinoplasty.
