Answer: Depending on the case, a revision can be done. Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Correction for uneven nostril after lip lift Revision Rhinoplasty and Lip Lift Surgery If you've had a lip lift and are experiencing asymmetry in the nostril or nose alignment, one option is a revision rhinoplasty and/or lip lift surgery. This procedure can correct the nostril height and improve the overall symmetry of the nose. Here's how to proceed: 1. Consultation: Schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. It's important to choose a surgeon who has extensive experience in revision surgeries, as these procedures can be more complex than initial surgeries. 2. Evaluation: During the consultation, the surgeon will evaluate your condition, take photographs, and discuss your desired outcome. They may use computer imaging to show you what you can expect after the surgery. 3. Surgery: The revision surgery may involve adjusting the nostril height, reshaping the nose, or repeating the lip lift procedure. The specific technique used will depend on your individual circumstances. 4. Recovery: Post-operative care instructions will be provided by your surgeon. This typically includes rest, avoiding strenuous activities, and taking prescribed medications. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your healing progress. 5. Results: It may take several months for the swelling to fully subside and for the final results to be apparent. Remember, it's important to have realistic expectations. While surgery can greatly improve symmetry, perfect symmetry may not be achievable due to individual anatomical variations.
