I am very petite for my height, 5'8 and 110 lbs. I am currently working to get my weight up to around 125 lbs. My consultation is in 2 months and for the implants I want on the bigger side, but while staying natural-looking and proportinate to my body. If I gain this 10-15 pounds before surgery will it allow me to go with a bigger size, or won't gaining this weight before/after surgery really make a difference? Thank you!
Answer: Weight Gain before BA It is always important to be at a stable weight before undergoing a breast augmentation. It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Please tell your doctor about your concerns and you should be able to find an implant that works best for you! Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon as I will further explain in the below link.#breastaugmentation#findingtherightsize#BA

Answer: Weight gain Generally speaking if you are near your ideal weight based on your height I don't recommend gaining weight. If may not make much of a difference for your breast tissue anyway. Implant size is determined by your breast width and looseness of tissue, that determines the size capacity of implants that will look good and not be too big to distort your tissue.Hope that helps, good luck

Answer: Consult with a PS Thank you for the question. As we know, breasts do tend to change with weight loss/gain. It would be better to achieve your weight goal before deciding to undergo breast augmentation. It is always best to visit a board-certified plastic surgeon and have a full evaluation for your concern. Best of luck. Dr. Michael Omidi. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to assess your needs and provide true medical advice.

Answer: Gain Weight Before Breast Augmentation? Any weight change that you desire should be completed prior to any elective cosmetic surgery. However, while the breasts may change a little with weight gain and loss, they typically don't change in size significantly with minor weight changes. There is no need to try to gain weight specifically to help the surgical results. Be sure to talk about this with your board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Gain weight before breast augmentation? Thank you for your question. Gaining weight prior to a breast augmentation will not have any impact on the size of implant used for the procedure. Implant size is dictated by the patient's goal breast size as well as the measurements of the chest/breasts prior to surgery. Consult with one or more board certified plastic surgeons to discuss your options.
