I had BA 5 months ago, everything is fine. I just been having this stinging like pain on my right breast. It comes suddenly and it quickly goes away, sometimes it stays longer than usual but is not a pain I can't handle. Is this something to worry about? The pain is under my Brest at times and sometimes on my nipple or around it.

Answer: Breast pain There can be several reasons for your mild pain. First is nerve regeneration; as nerves heal the pain fibers grow faster than other sensory fibers so as a nerve gets healthier it is common to feel burning pain, shooting pain, or stinging pain for a month or two before more normal sensation. It is always a good idea to massage the nerve areas that are irritated for it may get better faster and decrease the pain over several weeks. Some pains, especially positional pains like raising arms high or doing a pull up or push up might be some pulling of the scar tissue (capsule) around your implant. Just check in with your surgeon, everything is likely normal. Have a good holiday.

Answer: Pain at 5 months post op Thank you for the question. Though at this time, your wounds would have fully healed, your implants would still continue to settle up until 6 months. This could be due to a nerve regenerating but best to follow up with your plastic surgeon and let him or her know about your concern. Best of luck. Dr. Michael Omidi. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to assess your needs and provide true medical advice.
