Will breast drop to cover crease scar? (photos)

Question

As you can see my right breast (left in pic) has a scar that is sticking out towards the middle of my chest. Could I expect my breasts to drop and make that scar hidden by my breast crease? I had pretty uneven breasts pre op and that breast needed much more of a lift. I'm otherwise really happy. I also had 300cc implants.

Thank you for your question and photo.  How long has it been since your surgery?  As a general rule of thumb, I tell my patients that they should wait at least three months before assessing the results of their surgeries.  This is due to the fact that there are several changes that need to take place including the breasts reducing in swelling and dropping into place.  As you are now, your implants still appear to be "riding high."  Moving forward, be sure to closely follow the post-op instructions of your surgeon to ensure optimal results. Great question – looks like your surgery was done recently?  I always tell my patients to please be patient as time alone helps the implants settle into the right position, but it can take several months to a year for everything to soften, settle and the final swelling to resolve.  You will always have a scar in that location, the question is if the implant position and skin laxity over time will conceal it more.  Keep all of your follow up appointments with your surgeon so she/he can monitor the progress and make recommendations.The upper poles of your breasts look  symmetric, and it is always challenging when there significant preoperative asymmetry.  You look great, and I'm glad you are happy!

Thanks for your question.  While you look like you are well on your way to a nice result, it will take some time for things to settle (3-6 months).  It is likely that the scar will be covered once this happens.  Only time will tell.  Congratulations on your nice result.  Continue to follow your surgeons post-op instructions. It can take anywhere from 3-6 months for your breasts to fully heal and drop/settle into their final position so there is a very good chance that the breast will fall and cover your incisions. Be patient. Best, Dr. Nazarian

It appears that your surgery was relatively recently. It can take 3-6 months for the breast to descend. They will come down somewhat and will most likely cover your scar. Give it a full six months to determine your results.

Thank you for your question and photograph.  As your implants settle and the overlying skin accommodates the additional volume, you will see rounding out of the lower portion of the breast, improving the appearance of the crease scar that you currently show.  Give yourself 6 months of healing time before assessing your results.  I think your scar will end up in the crease once your tissues mature.

Because of swelling the volume of the breast can be artificially supported in the short aftermath of breast augmentation. As swelling subsides the scarring infra mammary fold will be cover up by the descent of the volume of the breast.

Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided photos as well,I think you are healing really well and your breast looks pretty,  is too early to have a conclusion on how your breast and your scars are going to look after your healing process, I recommend you to be patint in this time, but I also can say that when the implants settle your breast are going to come a little bit lower and the scar is not going to be that visible as now. You appear to be in the early stages of healing and at this point, I wouldn't make an conclusive decisions on the right breast scar.  It is difficult to say what that incision will look like once it has healed.  I wouldn't make any decisions until you are 6 months out as the scar will fade and settle and may be difficult to see in the end.  If you are unhappy with things after that period of time, I would seek out a board certified plastic surgeon for opinions regarding your result.

Thanks for your question and photo.I don't know how far out you are from your augmentation with lift.Implants will take 3-6 months to fully settle.  I would expect that your result will continue to improve.If you still have excess skin on the right medial edge of the scar after 6 months, it can easily be revised.
