8 weeks post breast reduction still a little swollen? 34F to a 34D/DD.

Hi! I am about 8 weeks post reduction from a 34F to a 34D/dd. I was hoping to be at a c/d. Most of the swelling seems to be gone, but there are some parts that seem hard/tender. Are my breasts likely still swollen?

Thank you Moose8192 for your question and congratulations on your surgery.  Swelling can last for 6-8 months after surgery.  Each surgeon has their own post operative instructions.  I would recommend you follow up with your surgeon with any questions or concerns and follow their directions.

Thank you so much for your question! I tell my patient's they will have swelling in their breasts after a breast reduction and they will settle into their final size around 4-6 months after the surgery. Eight weeks after surgery is still very early in the process of breast reduction, so you will have a better idea of what your size will be in 2-4 more months. I always suggest you meet with your board certified plastic surgeon to discuss timing as well. Best of luck to you and congratulations on your reduction!
