I have very thin lips naturally (especially the top lip). There is a local Groupon for one syringe for $468. I’m considering getting that but I’ve had a few friends tell me that I would need two syringes to get good results. My top lip is pretty much non existent. Do you think one syringe would suffice? I’d like them full and would like it to be noticeable. Also do you think the juvederm would be a better option rather than a lip lift via Botox?
Answer: Always good to start with 1 syringe In my opinion, I always like to start with a bit of filler and then you can always add more, if needed. Especially for the lips, I like to use a single syringe and you can add another in the future, if you feel like you need another. The lips swell a good amount after injections and 2 syringes at once can lead to a lot of swelling. Also, filler is definitely a better option for providing lip augmentation, fullness and pout vs. the Botox "lip flip".

Answer: Lip filler treatment Hi there! Thank you for your question. I always start with 0.5ml in the lips-particularly for new patients. It is a much safer approach to add filler bit by bit and it also means we can achieve natural looking results. Furthermore, 0.5ml-1ml of filler can actually add significant volume to the lips. Lip filler would be your best option to achieve fullness rather than a lip flip treatment. I would also stress that it’s really important to do your research in order to choose an experienced and highly trained practitioner that you have confidence in rather than jump into discount deals. Hope this helps! Best Wishes, Dr. Rupert

Answer: Lip injections The wonderful thing about fillers is that you can go slowly to get the look you want. One syringe is a good amount to use for the first time. Please know that bruising and swelling are common and can take up to two weeks to resolve. If after that time you feel you would like more product, return to your injector for a touch up. For added volume fillers are preferable to a Botox lip lift.

Answer: Lip augmentation Dear Gentle4103, I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns. You can try with one syringe and see the results you will get. You can add additional filler later if you are not satisfied with the results you get after one syringe. I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.
