I had all these surgeries done years ago after losing 70 lbs. I gained 60 back during a bad relationship. I've lost 1/2 of that & have 1/2 to go to reach my normal weight that I was stable at for years. What I'm concerned about is if it's ok to have these surgeries again even though I haven't had kids but plan to. Can I have "touch ups" done after I have children or is that stretching my skin too much? I don't want to have to wait because I want kids. Is there a number limit for these surgeries?
Answer: Revision of a 360 Circumferential Body Lift, Breast Augmentation, Lipo and Breast Implants Thank you for your question regarding whether you can have revision 360 circumferential body lift, breast lift, breast augmentation, and touch-up liposuction after regaining weight and before having children. The short answer is yes. I would suggest you try to lose as much weight as you can and once your weight is stable for three months, consider revision surgery. You can have a revision body lift and breast implants. You can have these procedures before becoming pregnant. Your pregnancy should not be affected by the body lift, and the pregnancy should not effect the body lift too much. I rarely have to do revision body lifts on patients who have had children after their body lifts. Therefore, lose the weight, stabilize the weight and undergo the revision body lift. I specialize in reconstructive plastic surgery after weight loss. If you have any more questions regarding the lower body lift, 360 circumferential lower body lift, belt lipectomy, belt abdominoplasty, or belt dermolipectomy please contact my office. Since the body lift is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the lower body lift. Do your research. Make sure they have performed at least 100 circumferential lower body lift surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. If you cannot find an experienced, lower body lift surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Repeated body contour procedures The generic answers to your questions are that you can do repeated body contour procedures, even before pregnancy, and there is no definitive limit to the number of times you can do this. But is this really a great idea? The most conservative approach to big body contouring procedures is to wait at least a year at a stable weight before having a procedure. If the patient is a great candidate for these procedures, many surgeons would proceed earlier. Many surgeons insist that you have a BMI no higher than 30, some do not. There is no doubt that pregnancy will affect your surgical result. The question is how much. I would suggest that you return to your prior surgeon and suggest additional surgery. They know how they performed the previous procedures which is a real plus if you have additional surgery. Proceed carefully and cautiously.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear YouCanDoIt6,the decision is up to you. You can get these procedures once you reach the goal weight and prior to pregnancy but there is a high chance that your results will be affected by pregnancy. Or you can wait until you are finished with pregnancies and then get desired procedures. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Plastic surgery before having children Thanks for your question, YouCanDoIt6. It’s possible to do multiple plastic surgeries in your lifetime, but it’s not advisable. If you’re planning to have kids in the future, it’s best to wait until after your pregnancy to have that second body lift and other procedures. Pregnancy will definitely change your body and make you gain weight, so it’s best if you can wait until then to avoid the need for more surgeries in the future. It’s also recommended to consult a reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon right now to ask his opinion and give you a proper assessment based on your current condition. Best of luck!
