I’ve recently had fillers in my lips and I have the mustache shadow. Will a lip flip fix the shadow? (photos)

Yes, I know that people are still breathlessly hyping the lip flip but is not result that can be produced in 99.9% of individuals. It occurs in a rare number of individuals who have just the right anatomy. I agree with another poster that you have had a little too much filler. Lip treatment requires an artful injector. IT requires a non runny filler like Restylane. Almost all other products are too runny for this location and drift after placement and can cause this look. Less is more. A thoughtful enzyme service can soften this look.

Hi @xxxxxxxxxx! Unfortunately, this shadow you are noticing in the vermillion border is lip filler migration. If you are unhappy with the results, I recommend Hylenex to remove the extra filler. A lip flip will not help with the shadowing you are noticing. I hope this was helpful!

In this case you have a classic injection of lip filler into/above the vermillion border which creates a characteristic "top shelf" look. It may take anywhere from 6-9 months to dissolve naturally. Hylenex is a logical solution to remove the extra filler. Lip flip with Botox will unfortunately not do anything for you in this case.

It appears that your filler has migrated a bit. Youi lips still look very good, but if dissatisfied, you should have the edge dissolved (Hylenex injection). A Botox lip flip will not cure this issue.

Unfortunately, this is a sign that too much filler was injected, and it has migrated into the cutaneous lip. You will have to have hyaluronidase at minimum to the borders of the upper lip, and possibly to the entire upper lip, to resolve it. A lip flip will not help.
