How do I know what to look for when choosing who performs Vbeam? This is regarding treatment for rosacea on cheeks.

In California the rules are pretty strict. If you are referring to an aesthetician, the answer in this state is No. Laser operators must be upper level medically qualified physician, physician assistant, registered nurse or nurse practitioner.

Lasers used on ethnic skin need considerable expertise. Vbeam is a gold standard vascular laser and is very helpful for Rosacea. Since Rosacea is a chronic condition, knowing as much as you can about the steps you can take outside the doctor's office to control it is extremely helpful.

In skilled hands, the risk of long lasting or permanent damage from any laser is rare. It's advisable to see a board certified dermatologist with ample experience.

an MD with experienced should be the one doing this treatment or at least an RN or PA that has years of experience, as this laser can cause blindness and burns.

You need proper skincare with skincare lines like faith (specifically the essence serum clay mask and moisture enrich lotion), Restorsea liquid gold and 10x cream, Sente dermal repair cream and 24 hour bio complete serum.  At home peels like emerageskin AERIFY with LED light therapy like lightstim can make a big difference.

In office, redness is treated with

1. vascular lasers (excel v, vbeam, BBL, IPL, Aerolase, yellow laser)

2. Aquagold or micro ampule infusion (botox topically)

4. proper medical grade skincare (faith, Restorsea, sente, emerageskin) and LED therapy (light stim)

5. non ablative, low level, low density lasers (clear and brilliant)

6. nano fractional RF (venus viva)
