Without photos, unable to determine candidacy. Most surgeons will want you to have a BMI under 32 to have this surgery. Look at the "before and after" photos of butt implants and BAs on the BCPSs' websites, number of surgeries performed, and patient feedback. However, nothing can replace an in-office consultation with an experienced BCPS who can review your medical history, anatomy, reasonableness of your expectations, and answer any questions of concern.BBL recovery is shorter than buttock implant surgery recovery. There is probably less pain with the subfascial technique; however, most plastic surgeons will place them in an intramuscular position to reduce complications. Following butt implant surgery, patients may not be able to sit for 14-21 days. In an uncomplicated recovery, easing back into exercise at 2 months would not be unreasonable. The key to butt implant surgery is to select an implant that is not so large that the muscle cannot cover it reliably. You want a nice result, but you want to avoid the implant complications (need for removal, infection, extrusion, fluid collection, implant migration, implant visibility, and capsular contracture among others). Studies have demonstrated that sizes above 350 cc have a greater rate of complications. Full breast augmentation recovery will take 4 weeks in most cases. You can usually return to a sedentary job 3 or 4 days after breast augmentation. During the first 3 to 4 days, the muscle spasms can be intense but well managed with medication. Those with smaller implants may not encounter this to a great degree. The two surgeries can be combined, but I would recommend that you stage them.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Dear hotnenabella, some plastic surgeons may want to split this into two operations depending on the time needed. Its best to see a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine your options and whether it would take too long, more than 4 hours, to do all.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello hotnenabella, It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! Buttocks augmentation with implants procedure is associated with a high post-operative complication rate (up to 40%). Patients who get buttock implants can experience pain and infection, and have trouble sitting on their buttocks for a long period of time. Moreover, implant patients are likely to develop seromas (lumps caused by an accumulation of serum within the tissue) and experience dehiscence and capsular contracture. Therefore, I would recommend you getting a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery done first (instead of buttock implants), and a breast augmentation 3-6 months after you’ve fully recover from the initial procedure. Since BBL utilizes autologous fat, the chance of allergic reactions to foreign substances, such as dermal fillers and silicone prosthesis (implants) are significantly reduced, and the results are longer lasting. Recovery is also better with butt augmentation with fat grafting. BBL’s patients can typically return to work 7-9 days after surgery, as opposed to those who receive butt implants and would need at least two weeks to resume their regular activities. Based on my experience, after performing BBL surgery you must avoid sitting or sleeping on your back for at least 8 weeks or else the desired outcome will be negatively affected. Putting pressure on your bottom by sitting down or laying on it during the recovery period can stiffen, deform and even cause the transplanted fat cells to reabsorb. On the other hand, if you get a breast augmentation procedure done at the same time, you’ll be required to sleep on your back and keep your upper body elevated or else you would hurt the results. Hence, it wouldn’t be suitable to get all the procedures performed at once. Your plastic surgeon would need to evaluate you in person to assess your candidacy for BBL surgery and breast augmentation. Good luck and may God bless you! Dr. De La Cruz.
Thank you for your question, Yes, absolutely you can do two produres in one. I do multiple procedures on patients in one surgery all the time. For Example a "Mommy Makeover" includes a Tummy Tuck, Brazilian Butt Lift, Liposuction, and a Breast Aug all in one surgery. So this makes it completely possible to have these two procedures done at the same time as long as your board certified plastic surgeon thinks that you qualify for it personally.
