Hey I am getting a closed Rhinoplasty done and I have a vacation approximately 8 weeks after. I asked my doctor when I can swim and he said 6 weeks. However, he wasn't sure about Scuba diving. With the pressure changes of scuba diving what do you guys think? Will I be save to scuba dive 8 weeks later? Thanks

At 8 weeks you should be healed but not at 100%. No one knows the answer to your question, it is just a guess. While you may be fine, I would hold off to be safe. I would stick to snorkeling (less pressure from mask on nose).

At eight weeks, it is acceptable to go scuba diving. The  water  pressure and the mask itself might exert a little  tenderness on the nose, but the nose should be well healed at eight weeks after the procedure. Best to check with your operative surgeon as well

Since you are going to invest great effort into getting a rhinoplasty done it would be wise to allow more complete healing to occur. This is not a common patient physical activity request after rhinoplasty so the absolute answer is not known. But one would think that at least 3 to 4 months should be allowed to pass after surgery before applying compression across the bridge of the nose and the surrounding face.
