Is surgery for collapsed nose cartilage covered by medicaid?

I have collapsed cartilage in my nose and it's causing issues with my breathing, and is making my nose look pretty ugly right now. Is surgery for this covered by caresource/medicaid?

It is very difficult to get any procedure that includes a rhinoplasty covered by insurance including federal or state entities. It may be possible for your provider to get part of it covered if it causing nasal valve collapse especially in the areas of the internal or external nasal valves (middle and bottom thirds of your nose). I would see a specialist in your area to get their opinion.

Insurance can possibly cover costs of nasal surgery if it is related to a medical condition such as breathing difficulty or a traumatic injury.  If surgery is for cosmetic reasons alone, then often insurance will deny coverage.
