Will hip/pelvis tattoo be affected by mommy makeover? (Photo)

I have ink on my pelvis and hip will it be affected. I don't want to tell the dr to preserve it because i want the best outcome, fix the body of a car first then worry about the paint job kinda thing. However i would like to know if i should say something or just wait and see.

Based on your description and the photo you provided, it's likely that both your pelvis and hip tattoos will be affected by a tummy tuck as part of your Mommy Makeover. The skin tightening and repositioning involved in the procedure can shift or distort tattoos located in the surgical area.

That said, from what I can see in your photos, the potential aesthetic improvements from the surgery appear to be significant. In other words, while the tattoos may be impacted, the overall results on your body contouring could be well worth it.

Your perspective on prioritizing the "body of the car" before the "paint job" is pragmatic. However, it's always beneficial to communicate with your surgeon about any concerns, even if you decide not to prioritize preserving the tattoos. Open dialogue ensures that you and your surgeon are on the same page and can set the right expectations.

Remember, tattoos can be touched up or modified post-surgery if necessary. Your overall satisfaction with the surgical outcome is the primary goal.

Because the skin is dragged down and extra skin is removed, tattoos on the lower abdomen may be erased in part or altogether. Where your tattoo is located, it will definitely be removed unfortunately.

Have your surgeon take a look at tattoo placement. A tummy tuck incision is hip to hip. Your tattoos may be affected. Best wishes!

Thanks for your question. If a tummy tuck is part of your mommy makeover, then be aware that the incision for the tummy tuck is made along the pubic hairline. Based on where your surgeon puts your scar and how much tissue is lifted, one or both tattoos will likely be affected with part of the upper one most likely being removed.

One goal during a tummy tuck is leave the scar low though on the abdomen to be hidden by the natural fold and cloth; in this case both tattoos are on this area and have changed, I reccomedn to talked to your plastic surgeon, trust on his opinion and discuss the outcome and possible options to get the best result .

At the time of the tummy tuck, some of the upper portion of the tattoo may be excised.  Once the tummy tuck has healed, you can correct the tattoo, if necessary.

Hi, your tattoos will very likely be affected as the lower incision should be slightly higher than the thigh crease and will encompass the skin up towards the belly button. Best to discuss with your surgeon prior to the surgery so that you both are on the same page with expectations.
