It’s been 2yrs and I still have a bruise after my breast reduction (Photo)

Question

Can this bruise be revised by removing the skin where the bruise is? Is there a bruise because the surgeon removed too much fat? He also injected steroids into that breast after the surgery because he said it would help my breast drop and I don’t know if that caused the bruise.

Given your history, I think the skin discoloration is likely secondary to the steroid injection. We utilize steroid injections to soften and flatten hypertrophic scars. Unfortunately, there is a risk that the skin becomes thinner and exposes the underlying vascularity. You do have options though and those would be non-surgical and surgical. Non-surgical options would be laser, microneedling, and radiofrequency to name some. Surgical would be scar excision but removal of the entire discolored area may require too large of an excision.

This does not appear to be a bruise.  It may be the result of the steroid injections.  An in person evaluation is best, but you may have improvement with laser treatments.  I encourage you to return to your surgeon for an evaluation.
