Thank you for your inquiry. Typically, the incision extends out to sculpt the breast and remove the excess fat and skin. Schedule a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to help you reach your goals.
Thank you for your query. With most techniques used for breast reduction now, there is minimal or no difference in the underarm skin, that is, it will stay in the same place. Please find an experienced Board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!
The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. At the time of elevating the breasts higher, lateral skin from the chest and axillary is pulled more centrally and will help improve the appearance under the axillary area. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
During a breast reduction, the surgeon typically removes excess breast tissue and reshapes the breast mound. The incisions are usually made around the areola, vertically down to the breast crease, and sometimes horizontally along the crease. While the procedure focuses on reducing breast volume and improving breast shape, it may also involve repositioning the nipple-areola complex higher on the breast. The underarm area itself is not specifically targeted for tightening or repositioning during a standard breast reduction. However, individual variations in surgical techniques and patient anatomy can influence the overall result. It’s essential to discuss specific concerns and expectations with your surgeon to ensure a clear understanding of the planned procedure and potential outcomes.
During a breast reduction surgery, the primary focus is on removing excess breast tissue, reshaping the breasts, and repositioning the nipple and areola to a more elevated position. The underarm skin is not typically a primary target for tightening or repositioning during a breast reduction. However, the overall result of the surgery can have an impact on the appearance of the underarm area due to changes in breast shape and position. If you have concerns about specific aspects of your breast reduction surgery, it's best to discuss them with your surgeon, as they can provide personalized information based on your situation. Good luck!
With a reduction, the skin under the arms is not addressed. However, it can be tightened at the same time if you wish.
Some laxity in under arm skin may be reduced with the Breast reduction if it is the lateral breast area, depending upon technique. Photos would help.
In a typical breast reduction the excess tissue is removed and the skin envelope is tightened and lifted. The underarm skin is not directly impacted. If this is a concern it is important to discuss it with your surgeon at your consultation. You should feel comfortable and confident in your surgical plan as you prepare for surgery.
Hi. In breast reduction, the underarm skin doesn't really change. If you have excess skin in that area and you want it removed, it could be done by directly excising it. You can ask your surgeon to do it during your breast reduction.
Your surgeon who has examined you will be the best one to tell if 300 grams can safely be removed. For your smaller breast, your photo does not show that you have enough breast tissue to take away 300 grams. Insurance does not cover a lift. However, you can still have the surgery if you pay out...
Thank you for your question. At this point, you should be completely healed from your surgery. I would make an appointment with your surgeon to show the drainage. Sometimes this can be from a stitch poking through the skin and just needs to be removed. Either way your surgeon needs to...
Thanks for your question. It is not necessary to lose weight for breast reduction unless you are above the surgery BMI requirement. That said, it is recommended for you to be at or around your ideal weight for optimal results. I suggest you schedule a consult for a proper evaluation. Always...
