Weight gain after Mommy Makeover, how to I get rid of it?

Thank you for your question. 80% of the swelling after tummy tuck and liposuction resolves in the first three weeks with the remaining 20% resolving within three months.  You don't say where you are in your post operative process so it is hard for me to know if it is normal swelling or not.  Please consult your board certified plastic surgeon for an individualized assessment of the problem.

It is difficult to say why you are experiencing the bloating without more information.  Swelling after this procedure is common and takes several weeks to subside.  I encourage you to speak with your surgeon about your concerns and to explore possibilities to help you.

It's hard to say why you specifically have gained weight without an examination and consult. Sometimes the inactivity after the surgery and eating different foods can increase your weight. Other causes may include water-retention. Decrease your salts and try natural diuretics such as lemon and dandelion root.  Lymphatic drainage or massage can help in more swollen areas. Natcotics can cause constipation, so decreasing them as soon as you can may help with the bloated feeling. Walk regularly to keep your blood flowing and muscles moving. The procedures you had done are not the complete answer for weight loss, rather part of the overall equation for body contouring. The surgical procedures were an investment in you. Now take this as motivation for an overall approach to a healthy body. Diet, exercise and cosmetic procedures need to be used in concert with one another for a complete approach in order to achieve your overall goal. I realize it may have been difficult with your health conditions and challenges, but once you feel ready start slowly and then increase your physical activity.
