I usually walk about 15,000 steps daily
Answer: Increase Your Steps Slowly Light, easy walking immediately after surgery is recommended because it can help facilitate the healing process, moving nourishing oxygen to your incisions and reducing the risk of a blood clot. Start with some brief walking around your house for the first few days, and slowly increase your step count as you heal. After 3 days or so, you may feel well enough to go outside and take a stroll around the block. Don't expect to get back to 15,000 steps a day until around a month after your surgery. Before then, it's important to keep your pulse at a resting rate in order to avoid any irregularities with the healing process. Slowly work up to your previous amount of walking, and ease off if you feel fatigued or uncomfortable.

Answer: Walking After Mommy Makeover Thank you very much for your question and congratulations on your upcoming Mommy Makeover. This customized set of surgical procedures is performed on an outpatient basis, so you will be home resting the same day. You will be up and walking on your own that afternoon, as well. For the first several days, you will be tired and sore, so listen carefully to your body. You can return to light, daily activities in the next few days. Strenuous exercise, however, should be postponed for four to six weeks. More than likely, by this time, you will be getting close to achieving you 15,000 steps, once again.

Answer: Walking I have my patients walk a few steps the night of surgery. I'm guess you are referring to exercise walking and in my practice week 4-6 we start entertaining this. Of course you need to consult your operating surgeon prior to any activity.

Answer: Activity after surgery You will be encouraged to walk at least around your home right after surgery. You will gradually be able to increase your activity level as you heal based on how you progress through recovery, but you can expect it to be several weeks before you will be able to walk 15000 steps. Speak with your surgeon about activity level restrictions.

Answer: Walking after Mommy Makeover Thank you for question, I would ask your PS directly about his or her course of recovery as every surgeon has a different protocol. With that said, you will be able to get up and walk around the first day after a tummy tuck, though you will not be doing 15,000 steps. Most patients should be able to return to work 5-7 days after the surgery, and resume most activities after 5-7 weeks. After a tummy tuck procedure, it is important for a patient to maintain a healthy lifestyle to ensure optimal results, however, jumping back into a rigorous workout regimen too quickly after a tummy tuck surgery can make recovery more difficult and longer. It is important to start slowly and listen to your body. Patients may typically start to resume light exercise two weeks after the surgery, but heavy lifting of weight more than 15 lb, sit-ups, and crunches should not resume until 8 weeks after the surgery.Good luck!
