Any suggestions on stomach swelling after BBL and Lipo?

Hello Cassie. In my practice I always tell patients to use their garments all day, for at least a month after surgery. They can start taking it off once and a while after the first month depending on the swelling. Using the post-op garment as much as possible along with post-op massages is the best way to treat and avoid swelling. I know it is not confutable, but it will get much more comfortable as time passes. The more you take it off the more swelling you will get.Some patients have trouble with bloating and constipation after surgery, so it is always a good idea to drink plenty of water and eat a high in fibber, as well as having low salt intake after surgery.If you are having to take your garment off frequently because it is too tight and too uncomfortable, then you might want to change garments. You need a tight enough garment that is comfortable enough for you to wear all day.With adequate use of a garment and post-op lymphatic drainage massages you will say goodbye to the swelling soon.Best of luck on your recovery!Dr. Miguel Mota
