My hemoglobin is 11.1. Is it safe for BBL?

I took my lab last week while on menstruation my hemoglobin is 11.1 , MCV is 88.3, MCHC is 31.3, RDW is 16.1. I usually bleed lots during my menstruation. My confusion is weather it is ok to have BBL with this Hemo level. I am currently in Florida to have procedure and I live in California. I don't want to have flown out here for nothing, but my health is essential and I can postpone if need be. I hve been taking iron and eating foods rich in iron. Is this ok to proceed with bbl?

Hello. It is best to review your lab results with your surgeon -- he knows how much liposuction is to be performed and will know best.  Hgb 11 is not terribly low and you can also improve that anemia over the next few weeks and months prior to any surgery. Visit your primary doctor to review the causes of your anemia prior to surgery.  Good luck

Ultimately, the only one who can decide this is your operating surgeon.  It is he or she who is taking responsibility for your case, knows your details, and knows exactly the amount of blood he or she typically loses during these procedures.  The advice of online consultants who never met you, do not know your story, and will not be performing your procedure is not as important as well your surgeon thinks.  Typically, not much blood is lost during a BBL is performed well.  So, it would seem at this level is acceptable, but again, the only person who can truly say this is your surgeon.
