Return to Physical Activity/Exercise: Avoid heavy liftingand strenuous activity for six weeks. You may, however, do normalactivities at any time if they cause no pain or discomfort. Let your body tellyou what you can or cannot do. Aerobic exercise will raise your bloodpressure, which could cause late bleeding and harm your result. Once youbegin exercising again, start gently and let your body tell you what it cantolerate. Don’t rush!! It may require the full 6 weeks before you can do any upperbody work-outs, yoga, etc.Make sure to check in with your surgeon for the best advice as to timing and your current stage in the healing process, and all should be well.
Thanks for the question. After 6 weeks your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can do gym and also do other activities. I wish you all the best.
It's always best to check with your surgeon about his or her protocol. I advise my patients they can start running as early as 3 weeks after a breast lift with implants and get back to upper body workouts at around 6 weeks. Hope this information is helpful. For more information on this and similar topics, I recommend a plastic surgery Q&A book like "The Scoop On Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts the Myths."
I appreciate your question. I would recommend that you discuss this question with your surgeon as every surgeon has their own respective post op protocol for his/her patients. Your surgeon is your best resource as he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you are healing at this time. For my patients, I recommend no heavy lifting or strenuous activity for 6-8 weeks following surgery. Please discuss with your surgeon. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz Board Certified Plastic Surgeon #RealSelf100Surgeon
Once everything has healed, you can return to exercise. In uneventful healing, 6 weeks may be the amount of time necessary.
Thank you for your recent question! Each surgeon has there own guidelines on when to return to certain activities. In my practice I recommend no exercise for 3 weeks. You can start light aerobic activity after 3 weeks and lifting after 6 weeks. Best of luck!
every surgeon has their own timeline for pts returning back to various activities. Best to reach out to YOUR PS to find out what he/she is ok with you doing.
Thank you for the question. The majority of patients who undergo the breast augmentation/lifting procedure will be able to return to full activity without restriction, over the long-term. Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to return to specific activities. He/she will know exactly what was done and how you are progressing. In my opinion, very gradual and cautious return to activities help prevent problems; "listen to your body" as you do so. Having said that, most patients are able to drive approximately one week after surgery, engage in lower body exercises two weeks after surgery, lift more than 10 pounds 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, and run 4 to 6 weeks after surgery as well. In my practice, I ask patients to avoid contact and strenuous exercise involving the pectoralis major muscles ( such as push-ups, bench press, burpees, dancing on a pole…) for at least 3-6 months. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
Reviewing ALL your posted questions makes me wonder - did you receive any postoperative instructions for care and progression of healing? Best to either return to your chosen operative surgeon for detailed instructions or seek in person aid second opinions for appropriate postop care...
I expect it probably stung a little when you removed those steri strips and got some bonus skin off into the bargain, but it doesn’t look like you have anything to worry about with regards to long-term results. At your stage of post-op recovery, it’s normal for things to look a little less tha...
Icepacks or frozen peas can be applied to the breasts after surgery for comfort. Follow your surgeons recommendations for dressings and bra wear. Do not use heating pads or hot water bottles. If one side looks significantly larger than the other, that might be a sign of...
