I have a lot of swelling on one leg after liposuction, is this a concern?

I'm a 96 kilograms 26 years old guy, and I've had done liposuction for the whole legs 13 days ago, and the left left especially in the back side of the leg is extremely huge and extremely hard, I can't walk on it or can't open my leg straight, while the right leg is getting better, it's only the left one is that okay ?

Hi there and thanks for your question!  Swelling after liposuction is expected and can last up to six months. However, unilateral swelling and difficulty walking can be concerning. I suggest following up with your surgeon for his/her recommendation.  Compression can be helpful to reduce the swelling and decrease pain.  Best of luck!

Swelling after liposuction is extremely common, especially when performed on the lower extremities. However nearly 2 weeks after surgery, your swelling seems a bit extreme, and I recommend that you check in with your plastic surgeon for evaluation. It is probably normal swelling, but it is better to check it out anyway. Good luck.

Thank you for your question. Swelling in the first week after liposuction is quite common. However, redness, swelling, heat, and pain are all signs of infection.  While you only report one of these, infections are a big deal and should be addressed immediately when present.  Best is to discuss specifically with the operating surgeon so that he /she can take a look.

You can have swelling, which can be asymmetrical and last 3-6 months after your procedure. However, since you're having trouble walking, I recommend following up with your Doctor. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is very normal.
I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

You need to get an ultrasound of your legs to make sure you don’t have any blood clots in your legs that could pose a serious risk to your health. I would go to an Emergency room and notify your plastic surgeon. If you do have a blood clot it is imperative that you receive a blood thinner as fast as you can.
