I appreciate your question. No it is not. All weight loss medications should be discontinued 4-8 weeks prior to surgery. Please discuss with your surgeon as he/she should have a detailed pre-operative instruction sheet for you to follow. The best way to assess and givetrue advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certifiedplastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.Best of luck!Dr. Schwartz
Phentermine, similar to amphetamine, is not safe to take before and should be stopped at minimum one week before surgery. Many doctors recommend stopping two weeks before anesthesia and surgery. Phentermine can have serious effects when combined with anesthesia, general or local with sedation. Ensure you review all medications you take with your surgeon and anesthesia provider and follow carefully all instructions given prior to surgery. Dr Sam Gershenbaum
Hi and happy holidays. If it is for sleeping or allergic purpose you may use it the day before surgery.Anyway ask your surgeon and advise him about it.
