I have a bbl scheduled for January 13th. I got my physical and blood work done this past Friday (12/18) and I was cleared for surgery. I have had a sore throat for a week or two so I went to the dr today (12/21) and it turns out that I have mono. They prescribed me a 10 day steroid cycle (prednisone) so I should be better in a week or two. Is it safe for me to have my surgery in 3 weeks?

Answer: See your doctor This is up to your surgeon, I would bring him/her all of my test results and see if they would still do the surgery.

Answer: Brazalian Buttock Lift, BBL, Mononuculosis Dear Ms. Bbl_bunny,Thank you for your questions.Since your BBL is a elective surgery you should be in the best health and shape you can be in, I would notify your Plastic Surgeon and the phyiscian who gave you preoperative clearance of your diagnosis and steroid medication.Your long term result and safety is what is important. If in doubt delay the BBL for several months. My best, R. A. Hardesty, MD, FACSDiplomate and Certified by the Am.
