Pap smear after Tummy tuck and muscle repair. Any suggestions?

There shouldn't be any problem with your getting a pap smear and/or a pelvic exam post tummy tuck. However, discuss with both your surgeon and Ob/Gyn just to be sure. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Thanks for your question.  Having a pelvic examination including pap smear should not affect your tummy tuck outcome.  However, your doctor can discuss the examination and any potential problems that could arise.

There is no contraindication to having a Pap smear after your tummy tuck.  A bimanual pelvic examination might be uncomfortable and should probably be avoided until about the 2 month time frame.

I see no real issue to obtaining a pelvic examination with a PAP smear. BUT always best to ask not only your chosen PS but your GYN doctor>>>>>>
