Nose very hard still at 8 weeks post op Rhinoplasty. Any suggestions? (photos)

It can take up to six months or longer for the swelling to resolve and the firmness to soften up depending upon what was done by your rhinoplasty surgeon. Sometimes massaging the area can speed up the healing process but I would discuss that first with your surgeon.

congratulations on what appears to be a successful result at this point. At 8
weeks, you are very early in the healing process following rhinoplasty. Your
nose's appearance will continue to gradually change as the residual swelling
subsides, but this takes several months. The hardness you describe is also
normal to experience 2 months after the procedure, and the nose typically
softens after about 6 months. Your concerns are common among rhinoplasty
patients, but rest assured that you appear to have a very nice result at this
point. If you have other concerns, contact your surgeon to get more
information.

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only eight weeks after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

At only 8 weeks port op its normal the inflammation, the time that this is going to be an issue for you depends on the complexity of the procedure. You should follow up with you surgeon so you feel more comfortable with the process.Good Luck Dr. Michael J. Rodriguez

Firmness and swelling after rhinoplasty are normal and usually last anywhere from 3-12 months after surgery.  With time the edema resolves and the firmness with it.  Follow up with your surgeon to monitor your healing.Good luck!

Geez ONLY 8 weeks! Swelling from rhinoplasty takes up to 1 year to fully subside! Did not your surgeon pre operatively explain that healing issue? 

You are still very early in the healing process. I tell patients that the firmness will improve over time, but plan on the nose being pretty firm until the six month mark. It will gradually get better but the swelling is causing a portion of the firmness along with the scar tissue formation. It should gradually return to normal but it will likely be slightly more firm than before surgery for a long time. Best of luck

It is normal to experience swelling with a feeling of firm tissue of the nose in the early healing phase.  It takes weeks to months for the nose to heal and feel normal again.  Follow up with your Plastic Surgeon so he can monitor your healing.
