4 weeks post J-Plasma on my arms my left arm became increasingly swollen at 2 weeks. What could this be? (photos)

especially around the elbow- to the point that it looks like an older, heavier person’s elbow. The arm feels sore and you can tell the difference between the other arm that is healing normally. I completed several massages and cavitation treatments and it is still swollen. My doctor thinks it’s just swelling but gave me antibiotics just in case and still no improvement. What could this be? I am patient but am now concerned!

Swelling can last longer for some patients when healing from surgery. I would suggest scheduling another follow up with your doctor in a couple weeks if it still hasn't subsided at all. Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Swelling is a normal phenomenon after j-plasma treatment. Swelling is often asymmetric. Prolonged swelling may indicate underlying injury or metabolic abnormality.While swelling is more diffuse, a fluid collection is usually localized and is palpable on examination. Infection is usually manifested by increasing pain, swelling, redness, fever, or drainage.Continue close followup with your surgeon until the phenomenon subsides. If it does not improve with time, a revisional procedure may be required.Best wishes...
