I had a baby A WHILE back but NOTHINGGGGG seems to help! Even diet habit changes NOTHINGGG. anyone have any feedback HONEST FEED BACK & want to point me in the RIGHT DIRECTION, I’ll be 29 in 3 weeks and wanted to fear the surgery around or on the week of spring break.
Answer: I consulted with a DR. in MIAMI, he told me that my BMI was 35 and I needed to lose 20 lbs for the procedure. Is this correct? Thank you for your pictures and questions. If you want honest feedback, here it is.....you absolutely need to lose weight before considering cosmetic surgery. In addition, you are a very poor candidate for liposuction alone without skin removal (tummy tuck). Liposuction is going to leave you with a large amount of deflated skin and a poor result. Make sure that "DR. in MIAMI" is a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery!Good luck!Dallas R. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. Generally speaking, in order to have a safe and successful cosmetic operation, you should aim to have a BMI of 30. As your BMI approaches 35, you are at significant risk of complications - some of which can be life threatening. I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Answer: BMI 35 Optimal candidates for surgery should have reached a healthy stable weight preferably with a BMI < 30. My recommendation is for pre-op weight loss. This will lower your overall surgical risk profile and likelihood of complications. With regards to your specific question, there is no quick fix. Cosmetic surgery is not a means for weight loss. Traditional diet and exercise are the first line. For those patients with a BMI of 35 and associated comorbidites (diabetes, hypertension etc) you may qualify for insurance coverage of bariatric surgery (surgical weight loss)As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Answer: I consulted with a DR. in MIAMI, he told me that my BMI was 35 and I needed to lose 20 lbs for the procedure. Is this correct? Being ready for the BBL depends upon your overall health, your body habitus, and your goals. In my practice I look for a BMI approximating 30 to lessen the risks of complications during and after surgery and to enhance the results of the procedures. It is best to be within 10 pounds of your weight goal for three months prior to the BBL. If you are having difficulty losing 20 pounds, make an appointment with you PCP who can suggest dietary changes and recommend an exercise program.
