Hi, I have always been insecure about my butt, especially the crease area. I feel like it is not defined and not flattering. What are the possible ways on fixing this issue? Preferably non-surgical.
Answer: Banana rolls treatment It is very difficult deformity to treat! You need to find a true expert to discuss your options and decide about surgery. There is no non-surgical treatment that I am aware off. Good luck.

Answer: Buttock folds Thanks for your question and the photo you provided. Unfortunately, I can not see the banana roll area. If you want more harmony to the buttock/thigh junction, you can create a buttocks fold. This would require a surgical procedure. My patients are placed under general anesthesia, excess skin to the lower pole of the buttocks and banana roll is removed and an incision is placed where your fold will be created. After 4- 6 weeks that incision forms a scar which appears to be a buttock fold. In most cases, this is combined with liposuction to reduce the bulk of the banana roll. Make sure you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Treatment for banana rolls Unfortunately there is no good and long lasting nonsurgical treatment for banana rolls. A lower buttock tuck (aka “banana-roll plasty) is usually the only reliable surgical treatment. In doing so it also aesthetically shortens and/or rounds out the buttock cheek. It is ideal for those patients that have had significant weight loss or fluctuations, changes from fillers injected, multiple pregnancies, or who’s derrieres have succumb to the dreaded effects of gravity and aging. It is also effective for those whom feel their buttock cheek is naturally too long or square and just want it proportionately shortened and rounded, respectively. Glad to help

Answer: Kybella for dissolving fat Kybella injections are FDA approved and safe non-surgical treatments that dissolve the fat permanently. You may need 2-6 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart to see a significant reduction of “banana rolls”.

Answer: Double crease on buttocks The banana roll or double crease forms on the upper part of the back of the thigh in a standing position because the skin is pressed together in this standing position. It is a skinfold and is unrelated to fat distribution. The skin is pressed together in a standing position. This skin laxity allows for full flexion of the hips.If you bend forward you’ll see that the contour changes dramatically for the better. There’s no good or appropriate way to treat this surgically or not surgically.Liposuction of this area leads to consistent bad outcomes including disfigurement. just like people get a fold in their lower abdomen in a sitting position you get a fold of the banana roll in a standing position.I recommend not treating this.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
