I had a chalazion on my upper eyelid and about 8 weeks ago I went to the ophthalmologist. He use a cortisone injection to remove my chalazion. I've had a little bump ever since. Will this go away with time or should I do some kind of plastic surgery to remove this bump?? Please help me. I am a bit worried

This will probably dissipate on it's own, but it may take many months. If it really bothers you and you don't want to wait, schedule a consultation with a  board certified plastic surgeon about having the bump excised.My best,

You can see a plastic surgeon in consultation to determine if a small excision of this residual scar or excess skin is necessary.  It should be a straightforward procedure in the office if necessary.

You are seeing the residual steroid in the lid.  The skin here is very thin, and the steroid we usually inject, kenalog is white.  If injected superficially you can sometimes see the actual steroid under the skin.  This can take many months to go away.  If it doesn't you can have it removed with a small excision.

If it bothers you that much, you could consider a small excision under local anesthesia. It is likely to dissipate on its own over time.

Appears as retained cyst/chalazion. Only excision at the stage will completely remove the cystic area.
