What can I do to make my belly button more appealing after a TT? I hate my new belly button.

Hello, thank you for your question. It is hard to tell without photos, but based on your description, you may benefit from a belly button revision. It is a short procedure that requires little to no down time, for the best results I suggest you consult with a Board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in reconstruction procedures so that you make have the best possible results.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. It would be helpful to view pictures of your belly button.  Based on your description, you may benefit from a surgical revision of your belly button.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

it is hard to tell without photos or examination but you will most likely get an improvement with umbilicoplasty. Belly button reconstruction is the most delicate part of tummy tuck surgery. I spend a lot of time on belly button reconstruction so that my patients get the best possible outcome. If you have any doubts you can always ask for a second opinion. You will get the best recommendations after a thorough examination.

Having an issue with the belly button is not uncommon after a tummy tuck. This is an area which is unpredictable and revisions under Local anaesthesia are required to improve the result. The fact that you have a keloid tendency is also certainly an issue. I would recommend plastic surgical expertise, scar revision, potential steroid injections locally, silicone therapy and close followup. This should improve your overall result.
