I appreciate your question. Direct injection of the dermal fillers into the fold is only one approach. Injection of a dermal filler like Lyft or Voluma might offer an alternative to improve the folds without the risks of shadowing. Fillers will certainly help. A filler like Restylane Defyne could be injected directly into the fold. Alternatively, a more cohesive filler like Restylane Lyft could be injected into the midface/cheeks to lift the face and soften the folds. 

An experienced injector should be able to correct or at least minimize your asymmetric nasalabial folds - this is common in any high volume practice. Can be corrected without lumps or over-filling.
I recommend getting a 2nd opinion in your area.

I am sorry you have had difficulty with dermal fillers. I do still believe they are an option for you, if performed by an experienced injector. Occasionally, they need to be performed over two to three sessions.  Sculptra injections are also a suggestion for this area. 
Surgically, a small dermal fat fascia graft could be placed through a small incision in the mouth and aligned at the base of the nose and under the fold. This can be done in the office under local anesthesia. The results are immediate and well retained. 

Fillers are still the best way to correct the asymmetry . The type of material injected and the location matters. I would suggest you see an injector that is experienced in injection the face. An injection of the cheek bone would correct your Nasolabial fold asymmetry .
