Can you get tear through fillers while using lymecycline and Epiduo gel?

Hi I’m taking Lymecycline and using the Epiduo gel for my acne which is helping great I’m just wondering Can I get tear through fillers while using the Epiduo and taking the lymecycline? Thank you!

Yes, you can have dermal fillers. Keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement for tear troughs. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. There is no issue or problem with getting fillers in the tear trough or elsewhere while using an oral antibiotic and/or topical acne therapy. Your injecting dermatologist can always guide you on such questions.

It is fine to get fillers while using antibiotics and Epiduo for acne. It is not recommended to inject fillers where you have an active breakout because of the risk of infection. As long as that precaution is taken there should not be any issues. Good luck!

Hi, getting filler while on oral antibiotics and topical medicines for acne is perfectly safe. It should not interfere with your procedure at all. However, just as a side note, being on oral antibiotics for acne should always be a short course. Being on them for longer for 3-4 months without a plan to taper can become problematic. Also to help prevent bruising from your filler add some fresh pineapple into your diet a few days before!

Hi mariawilson48, As long as you don't have active acne near the area to be treated, taking antibiotics and using the Epiduo gel is no issue. Taking antibiotics won't cause you to swell or bruise more. Other drugs like blood thinners and antioxidants do.All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
