I got a breast augmentation over a year ago. I love my new boobs! I think my plastic surgeon did an amazing job.
Answer: Is there anyway I can prevent getting double bubble or a capsular contracture? After a year it is unlikely you will have a double bubble. Capsular contracture on the other hand can unfortunately happen even after 1 year - there are no proven things that can be done to ensure it never happends.

Answer: How to prevent double bubble and capsular contracture. Thank you for your question. A double bubble would have been apparent soon after surgery and is a very unlikely that this would occur after 1 year.At one year I also think that if your breast implants are soft and freely movable now it is unlikely he will developed a capsular contracture. However in my practice I encouraged patients to continue their breast implant displacement exercises daily as long as they continue to have implants to attempt to help prevent capsular contracture.

Answer: Breast Implants I commonly recommend my patients to keep massaging the implants for life. Also, supportive bras help to keep them in place and avoid bottoming out and double bubble. Over time, double bubble may form if your breasts start sagging over the implants, but this is due to gravity and skin laxity and there is not much you can do to prevent that. Also, capsular contracture may happen despite all your best efforts to avoid it. If you catch it early, you may treat it with medication such as Singulair and you should see your surgeon promptly.

Answer: Avoiding a capsular contracture There really is nothing that you can do to lower your risk of capsular contracture or a double bubble. The good thing is that if your implants look normal now, you are very unlikely to have an issue with a double bubble. Capsular contractures are not completely understood, but I do not know of any ways to effectively lower your risk. Some surgeons feel that taking either Singulair or accolate could potentially lower your risk, but the data supporting their use is not conclusive.

Answer: Prevention of double bubble and capsular contracture Hi,I am pleased that you are delighted with your implants and have been for over a year.It is most unlikely that you will now develop a double bubble at this time. Double bubble may sometimes occur late as the breast tissue droops, so avoiding significant weight fluctuations may help a little.Regarding capsular contracture, this can unfortunately just happen for no apparent reason. It tends to happen slightly more often in people who smoke so avoiding smoking may help, but there are no proven things that you can do at this stage to make a capsule less likely. My suggestion - continue enjoying your new breasts and don't let anxiety become an issue.
