I started experiencing some BII symptoms a few years ago but after a year of breast feeding my daughter, my breasts became so painful. I had shoulder and neck pain that went into my back and my breasts felt so heavy. I started vomiting through the evening and had severe IBS, brain fog, milky eyes, fatigue and couldn’t take a full deep breath anymore. I went to several private doctors who all told me to remove and replace, none of them believed me and none of them offered en bloc. They just wanted to make as much money as they could, said I needed a lift of fat graft etc. Mr Sterne put me at ease from the get go. He was thorough, talked me through everything and told me there would be no point in an uplift as it would cause more scaring than needed. On the 5th Jan I had my implants removed after 13 years. I was so worried about what I’d look like but I needed to put my health before anything (I couldn’t even lift my daughter up without being doubled over in pain). I woke up after the surgery, took a deep breath and cried. I didn’t realise how shallow my breaths had become. The pain was instantly gone and although general soreness from surgery is inevitable, I feel 100% better than I did. Highly recommend Mr Sterne and the Nuffield in Wolverhampton. Beautiful hospital with so much caring staff, lovely clean and spacious room and lovely food.
My nose has alwasy been my biggest insecurity, i contacted Dr Guy Sterne after reading lots of amazing reviews and after meeting with Dr Guy Sterne i took the jump to get it fixed!. I had my surgery done while there was still Covid restrictions, i was put at ease from the start and the whole procedure and experience was amazing!! I came away with a perfect nose and would definatly recomend Dr Guy Sterne to anyone!!
Would highly recommend it, I have had two procedures, both results have been amazing. My expectations have been more than I ever imagined. The whole experience from the beginning to end result was talked through explained fully and just a great experience. Thank you again.
From my initial consultation to post-surgery, Dr Sterne was fantastic. I found him through research into recommended surgeons for my surgery and I'm so glad I followed the recommendations. He made me feel completely at ease throughout the process and even post-op when I needed some reassurance, he responded personally. Although it's still too early to tell the final result, I'm really pleased with the outcome so far. I travelled over 100 miles to have my surgery with Dr Sterne and thankfully it was worth it!
I had a septorhinoasty with Mr Guy Sterne at Nuffield Wolverhampton last year. I was abit nervous going in to my initial consultation but Mr Sterne soon put me at ease and answered any questions I had. He was also really good at accommodating when I wanted the procedure done. He was open and honest and explained the risks and possible outcome of the procedure. I am so happy with the end result and it has given me the confidence to go out feeling confident and not self conscious like I was before The theatre team were brilliant they were great and communicating with me and put me at ease.
Mr Sterne listened to my concerns and what I wanted without making me feel self conscious or that I was too old to make this kind of change to myself! He explained the procedure very clearly, discussing the pros and potential cons. I am extremely pleased with the results and it has made a huge difference to my self-confidence.
After considering a Facelift for a number of years to freshen up my appearance I eventually decided last year that the time was right. I searched for top Cosmetic surgeons around Birmingham, Worcester and the West Midlands and decided on Guy Sterne. After a lengthy consultation between Mr Sterne, myself and my husband, Guy gave us the positives and potential negatives to the procedure. My husbands main concerned was that I would look liked a stretched doll but Guy assured him that a Facelift leaves you looking fresh NOT tight and pulled. I decided to go ahead and how glad I was. From start to finish I was looked after so well and put completely at ease. Facial numbness for a number of weeks however very little discomfort. Guy also carried out liposuction under the chin which probably gave me the most discomfort but certainly not unbearable. It did take about 6 months for the swelling to completely disappear but after only 3 weeks I was so happy with the result. I can't recommend Guy Sterne enough.
I was so unhappy with my body shape and felt very self-conscious: following three caesarean sections over several years, my stomach had formed a sizeable ‘pooch’ which hung over my scar, my breasts were droopy and all were getting more and more saggy as I aged. Cosmetic Surgeon Mr Guy Sterne was recommended to me by a friend whom he had treated with plastic surgery. I found Mr Sterne to be such a lovely man - sympathetic, honest and sincere as well as completely realistic about what he could and could not achieve for me, expertly managing my expectations. Mr Sterne explained the procedures in detail and answered all my questions. I decided to have both a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and breast reductions (bi-lateral mastopexies) at the same time. The operation took place at West Midlands Hospital in Halesowen near Birmingham. I am now 5 months post-operative and look and feel amazing - this was the best decision I have made in quite some time, worth every penny! I love my new body, crafted with precision and excellence by Mr Sterne’s surgical hands, his fine needlework minimizing the scaring as much as possible. This has given me new-found confidence and the freedom to wear different types of clothes. Mr Sterne and his team are so caring and supportive, I would not hesitate to recommend him. Go ahead - make that appointment and take the first step towards improving your life!
I underwent a Septoplasty with Guy Sterne in February this year. When I had my consultation with him I found him to be very professional and such a lovely man too. He made me feel at ease and I saw a lot of his work and felt confident I was making the right choice. He told me exactly what he would be doing and I felt confident booking in with him. I had always been self conscious about having a hump on my nose. I noticed it more on photos and it was something I had always thought about having done. It's been almost four weeks now and I am so happy with the final result. There is a still a bit more swelling to go down but I could not be happier. I would highly recommend Guy to anybody considering having a nose job.
I underwent a facelift and upper and lower bletheroplasty with Guy D. Sterne MD (Specialist Registered Plastic Surgeon) in October 2018, in Worcester. I was a little nervous about the procedure but was immediately put at my ease during the initial consultation by Mr Sterne's evident knowledge, experience and professionalism. I had an underlying medical issue that I was concerned could be affected by the procedure but Mr Sterne went away and researched any possible repercussions and I was then fully confident to go ahead with the procedures. I received outstanding care during my hospital stay and was always kept informed of what was happening and why. My aftercare was equally as impressive and I was given clear instructions on how to best help to care for my wounds. The final result is wonderful and I feel and look 10 years younger ….so all my friends think. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Sterne and in fact am considering further surgery under his supervision and care.
Hi, this is a great question and one which I am often asked. You have explained that you are young, petite, 4'9"tall and have an A cup breast. You have been advised to go for teardrop implants but it sounds as though you are hoping to have round implants provided they don't look that bad? The points you should consider are: 1 teardrop shaped implants produce the most natural breast shape if you have no natural breast tissue. 2 if you are hoping to receive a very large breast implant behind a very small breast then teardrop shaped implants will probably give you the most natural appearance. 3. The main concern with teardrop implants is that approximately 2% will malrotate resulting in discomfort and a distorted breast. This situation usually requires further surgery to correct it and avoid a repeated malrotation 3 if you are only looking at receiving a moderate or modest sized implant then round implants would probably give a very natural result too. 4. The main concern with round implants is that you may achieve too much fullness in the upper part of your breast. To a degree this can be reduced by placing the implant under the muscle, as the muscle will then compress and flatten the upper part of the implant. You are likely to achieve a very nice result with either round or teardrop shaped implants, provided you don't choose too large an implant. You should weigh up the risks and benefits of each approach; patients often consider a 2% malrotation unnecessarily high and opt for the safer option of round implants.
There is a lot of confusion about the lifespan of a breast implant. Many websites incorrectly state that breast implants last 10 years or 15 years et cetera. Implant manufacturers now cell implants with a lifetime warranty. This means that should the implant rupture at any stage they will give you a brand-new implant. However you would still have to pay the surgical fees, the hospital fees, the anaesthetist fees etc. Looking at the evidence for the longevity of silicone implants it would suggest that if 100 implants are inserted today, then within the first year five of these would need replacing due to: early capsular contracture; rupture; malposition; or overwhelming infection. After this first year, one or two implants each year would be expected to require replacement. By 10 years post-operatively approximately 15 to 20 implants would have been replaced, but 80 would still be in place and doing well. I have changed implants for ladies that have had their implants in place for 30 years, 40 years, and the longest I have replaced is 47 years after their original insertion. There is not a specific time period after which your implants need replacing. Your implants will let you know that there is something amiss by either becoming harder, or changing the shape of your breast, or becoming uncomfortable or painful. If one of these events happens then it is time to visit your plastic surgeon again. Unfortunately this may occur as early as the first year after surgery, but many patients are lucky and their implants last many decades. In your case, the discomfort, rash and unusual sensations should be assessed by your plastic surgeon who can advise on your next step.
Sadly there is no cream or tablet that you can take that will make any noticeable difference to the size of your breasts.
Thank you for your question. This is a topic which concerns most women choosing breast implants. There is no correct answer, you should spend some time with your chosen plastic surgeon discussing exactly what outcome you are hoping to achieve. Most surgeons will encourage you to wear a sizer or "chicken fillet" in a bra, which will help demonstrate to you a fairly accurate representation of your final outcome. Some plastic surgeons now are use computer generated imaging to help illustrate your final outcome with various implant sizes. This can be very helpful indeed. Your plastic surgeon will also measure your chest wall to ensure that the correct width of implant to suit you is chosen. It is also important to consider the following points; 1. the biggest mistake is choosing an implant too large for your body. Fortunately this is an uncommon error. 2 there is not one single implant which is perfect for you - you should aim to get into your happy range of sizes 3 after surgery you will very quickly get used to the size of your new breasts and it is quite common for women to wish they had gone a little larger. In reality had they gone larger then their breasts would not look as natural 4 the bigger the implant you choose the more false your breasts will look. This is a general rule and depends on how much breast tissue you have to start with. Ultimately the final decision on implant size is yours as only you really know what size will make you happy. The whole sizing process is an important and valuable part of your consultation with your plastic surgeon. Patients often return for a second consultation to repeat this process just to make absolutely sure that they have chosen the correct size before undergoing surgery.
Dear Genesco, thank you for your post. As a physical education teacher you have a physically active job. It is likely to take you about six weeks before you are able to return to fairly normal activities. I would recommend that you take two weeks off work completely. After this you may return to driving and light activities. Most patients return to light gym activity (avoiding any impact or upper chest muscle activity) at about four weeks post-operatively. Returning to work after one week may be possible but at this early stage resuming normal activities increases your risk of breast swelling, low-grade inflammation, possible bleeding and all of this may increase your risk of capsular contracture. I would strongly recommend and that you take sufficient time to recover properly in order to achieve the best outcome from your surgical procedure.
