Should I apply for financing before or after consultation?

It really depends on your current financial situation. It usually is preferred to work with the financial company your plastic surgeon recommends. Also to consider if you apply for financing before and do not go through wih surgery your credit takes a "hit". Best of luck.

This really all depends on your current financial situation and how much you are depending on financing to allow you to proceed. Remember that anytime you apply for financing, you get a "hit" against your credit. It would be a shame to have that occur should you decide, after your consultation, either 1) Not to go ahead with the procedure or 2) You are able to finance it on your own. I would suggest you seek a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, have your consultation, obtain your quote, and go from there.

It's really up to you whether you apply for credit before or after your consultation.  At many offices, they can apply with you when you are at the office as well.  Some financing companies can give you immediate approval and others will go through an application process of a few days so you need to decide which is best for you.  Care Credit is one that many offices accept so you can research it and apply for immediate approval if you would like.  ac

You can do this either way. As some of my colleagues have suggested, it is usually most convenient to work with the financing company your plastic surgeon prefers. Many of us have relationships with the same
financing companies, so it might not be a bad idea to contact one of the
popular ones to make sure you qualify, especially if you're pretty
certain you plan to go ahead with breast augmentation.On
the other hand, there's nothing wrong with waiting until you have your
consultation(s) and make the final decision who your surgeon will be.
Financing companies are typically fairly responsive and you should be
able to work things out just the way you want.

Schedule your consultation with a board certified physician, and then check their website for the financing options they participate with. It is best to apply for credit from their preferred financing programs. As to whether you should apply before or after your consultation, it depends on how set you are on having surgery. If you really want to have something done, it is good to go in knowing what your credit limitation would be. That way you know before leaving the office if what was recommended for you could actually be done. As a side note, please make sure that you can afford the monthly payments on what credit you expect to take out. Ideally, you want to pay off the entire amount in 6-12 months. If you cannot do that, please don't go beyond your means to have cosmetic surgery and risk financial ruin.  Good luck.

Thank you for your question.  If you are surgeon that you need breast augmentation and do not need a lift or other procedure that it is reasonable to apply for financing before your consultation.  However if you're uncertain about what procedure you are actually need that I would wait until after your consultation you have a clear idea of what the cost will be.
