Hi, I had breast lift surgery almost a month ago, in two days it will be a month. Today I noticed that my scars are purple and wanted to know if I should be concerned and call my doctor.

Answer: Scars after breast lift Your scars will change in colour and prominence as you recover from your surgery. At this point in your recovery, your scars look normal. It is not unusual for the scars to look dark red/purple earlier on. They tend to look worse before looking better. Because your incisions are closed now, you can consider silicone gel or other topical scar treatment to help them along. However, before you do anything please consult your surgeon for their advice.

Answer: Breast Lift Scars Great Question! Yes scars change color over time. This happens with everyone. The best thing you can do is apply a scar cream to help decrease color of scar. Massage your scars as well to help dissolve scar tissue underneath your incisions. All scars take a full year to fully mature- you have a ways to go! Good luck!
