I am 33 years old, very healthy and fit (high functional fitness and body building type weight traininf 3-4 times a week. I am currently 61kg at 5'2 with a low body fat percentage, no more than 20% at present. I have always struggled with a round face, even when my body weight is low. I have to fight to stay tiny to be happy with the shape of my face and am undergoing surgery in a few weeks to have my implants changed after 10 years. I'm so tempted to ask the surgeon if they would consider chin lipo at the same time so i can just get it out of the way in the same procedure! Would i be a good candidate for chin lipo?
Answer: A non-invasive option would be to do Morpheus8 treatments to help define the jawline and reduce unwanted fat. Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: No you are not You are not a liposuction candidate. You have a very sharp jawline and little to know fat underneath your chin. In fact, chin liposuction is likely going to be harmful for you. The face shape you see is due to bony prominences that can be shaped. WE can reduce the jawline and soften harsh areas of the forehead and other regions.

Answer: Evaluating Candidacy for Chin Liposuction: Key Considerations for Optimal Facial Contouring Based on your description, you may be a good candidate for chin liposuction. Here are some factors to consider: Body Composition: With a low body fat percentage and a commitment to fitness, you likely have good skin elasticity, which is important for achieving optimal results from liposuction. Facial Structure: If you have a persistently round face despite being fit, chin liposuction could help define your jawline and reduce fullness under the chin. Combination Surgery: Discussing the possibility of combining chin liposuction with your upcoming implant surgery is a practical idea. This can minimize recovery time and anesthesia exposure. Consultation: It is essential to have a detailed consultation with your surgeon. They can assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, and overall health to determine if chin liposuction is appropriate for you. Considering these points, chin liposuction could be a beneficial procedure to enhance facial contour and achieve the aesthetic you desire.

Answer: Adding neck, Liposuction First informs the ability to liver, consistent quality Liposuction results, including the ability to make accurate assessments is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of this kind of work is in reality quite small. For that reason I would be highly selective when it comes to selecting a provider for permanent irreversible facial contouring procedures. If done poorly, Liposuction can easily leave people permanently disfigured. You don’t have a lot of subcutaneous fat to work with so the potential change is going to be settled. The primary variable determines what your face looks like is generally bone structure. This is more true for young people and with a low BMI even more so. I’m not sure chin and neck. Liposuction is going to get you the results you want. I suggest you have an in person meeting with your provider well in advance of your scheduled surgery. Bring a proper set of facial pictures with you to use as a reference during the discussion. Ask your provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of it before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics for the procedure you’re interested in. If your provider doesn’t have an impressive collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, who look like you do in the before pictures then maybe skip on this one or talk to some other plastic surgeons. I wouldn’t gamble with this because if it goes wrong, it’s pretty bad. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
