I had lipo twice, the second time was aggressive and I came out with a deformed stomach. I raked to one dr and he said I needed a tummy tuck all tho I have no extra skin which makes me concerned. The dr who did the lipo said to come in and he will put a lipo stick with a V and release the scar tissue no lipo in that area and then lightly relipo around belly button... I just want to look normal again.
Answer: #RevisionSurgery breaking up that much scar tissue is not gonna be easy esp if a heat or ultrasound based device is used. it only creates more scarring. I would have to see and examine in person to see how much fibrosis there is and how much fat loss there is. and then determine the plan.

Answer: Uneven after liposuction Dear Doll valls 143, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Correcting previous liposuction results Further surgery will only create more scar tissue. This absolutely includes going in with an ultrasound probe using a VASER. The whole idea of breaking up scar tissue only leads to more scar tissue. It will not correct the inherent problem was which was that too much fat was removed in an overly aggressive and uneven manner. Converting this to a full tummy tuck may be an option this is especially true when the lower abdomen has been over treated but the upper abdomen is OK. It’s harder to remove sufficient amounts of skin to do a full tummy tuck and patients who don’t have skin laxity. The scar tissue also makes the skin and fat layer less pliable or less stretchy making it difficult to clear the skin from the belly button down to the groin which is done in a full tummy tuck. There is no easy fix for your situation. Liposuction results are permanent and irreversible. Sometimes simply cutting out the entire treated area is an option. I’m not sure if it is for you. There are a lot of things to discuss and to do that I suggest having multiple in person consultations. I do not recommend going in with any type of liposuction probe to break up scar tissue. That will only make things worse. I’m not sure why plastic surgeons think this is going to work. I think they are just kicking the can down the road hoping that the patient eventually stops coming by the office. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
