This can be normal. Implants placed under the muscle often sit quite high initially as the muscle is tight. It will take weeks to months for them to drop. See your PS frequently to discuss maneouvers such as massage to help.Best,
You are very early in yourpost-op course at 7 days. Breast implants start off “high and tight”, and willsettle into a more normal shape over several months depending upon the pre-opanatomy and tissue characteristics, and the size of the implant.Implants placed under the musclewill have prominent upper pole fullness. This is related to the tightness ofthe newly dissected pocket, the contraction of the pectoralis muscle, andpost-op swelling. This upper pole fullness will be more exaggerated with largersized implants, and as implants are over-filled more.As the swelling decreases andthe tissues relax (and stretch), the implants will ‘settle’ - the volume willredistribute from the upper part of the implant to the lower part of the implant. The upper pole will be come more sloped and the lower pole will become fuller.Use of implant displacementexercises and/or a strap across the upper pole may help speed the settling. Yoursurgeon should be able to guide you.Best wishes. Ken Dembny
Implants under the muscle often sit high due to muscle tightness. As the muscle relaxes and accommodates the implant, the implants appear to "drop." This is normal. It usually takes several months for the breasts to achieve their "normal" appearance.
Implants commonly sit high one week after surgery often due to spasm. Over the next several weeks to months, the implants should descend.
It is quite common for under the muscle implants to appear to be high riding for the first few months. Typically the contour looks fine in the OR while the patient is asleep or sedated, but once awake, the pectoral muscles contract and push on the implants, displacing the fluid (gel or saline) upward. Your surgeon may advise a pectoral strap and/or massage to help the implants to "drop". Many patients with good results at 6 months had high riding implants early on. All the best, Dr G
Yes, you are still very early in the healing process. As the implants begin tosoften and settling they will change shape. It usually take 2-3 months to get to an ideal shape. Go backto the plastic surgeon who did the surgery for post-op care. Good luck
To my eye, the problem here is that the implants are sitting too high - it's not that the nipple is too low. This may be a result of an early capsule that as formed, or an under-dissected pocket for the implant. Best to discuss with your surgeon. The answer here is not a redo of the nipple...
Dear angeez, Thank you for submitting photos, it is helpful. I do not think a bigger implant alone will accomplish what you are seeking. However, I think you are very good candidate for a periareolar mastopexy (donut lift). The incision is around your areola and...
It does not appear that you have symmastia as it looks like from the photos that you have two separate breast pockets and they are not communicating. They are very close together and look like distinct pockets at this stage. You are also early in you post operative period and will...
