When I came out of surgery I was surprised at what I saw. The doctor had cut me from one side of my eye to the other. I went in on yesterday, I advised him I was not expecting to be cut this way. He basically dismissed my concerns. Told me it will have to heal.. I know of there are imperfections they will heal that way..I have an appointment in 2 weeks.

Lateral canthopexy can be done under local anesthesia but usually it is not a useful technique. Even canthoplasty may not be adequate as more extensive lower eyelid surgery may be necessary, depending on the exact eyelid problem and desired outcome. Consultation with photos if necessary.
It may have occurred from the anesthetic injection. It does not usually happen after chalazion surgery but some people bruise more than others. It will go away on its own in about 2 weeks. It should not effect the function or health of the eye.
Hi Melissa. Although the photo is not great, the Tyndall effect looks bluish or grayish and your photo appears to show a darkened area. Hemosiderin staining is more likely and does not necessarily resolve in 14 months, or at all in some cases.
