Nipples are pointy and long - Do I have tubular breasts and can anything be done to fix this? (photos)

I am 27 and have always hated my boobs and nipples. My nipples are also very pointy. The areolar itself isn’t too large but my actual nipples are huge/long and almost always erect even when they’re not hard. Can anything be done about this too? I would appreciate an answer because I am so self conscious and upset about how my breasts look.

Hello, thank you for your question. You should certainly have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to assess your breasts and your concerns. If it is just the nipple, a simple procedure can be done to reduce the actual nipple size and make it smaller. This is called a nipple reduction.

The traits of tuberous breasts are constriction of tissue around the nipples, an undefined breast fold and areola puffiness. You don’t appear to display these traits. If you’re only concerned about the size of your nipples, a surgical nipple reduction can be performed. The procedure would remove excess tissue to reduce the size of your nipples, making them more proportionate in size.

Your nipples are large in proportion to your breasts and areolas- you can have a nipple reduction which actually heals almost invisibly and makes a dramatic difference in the size and appearance of your nipples.

You can actually have your nipples shortened if you wanted. However if you haven't had children yet and think you want to breast feed I would not advise doing it. Nipple reduction could block the ducts for breast feeding

tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall.The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition.My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries.That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hate is a very strong word to use. Your nipples are somewhat large and can easily be trimmed down to have smaller nipples. This may interfere with breast feeding, but breast feeding may stretch them out some.  Your breast are not tubular, shaped like tubers.

Thank you for your photos and questions.  Based on your photos you do not have tubular breasts.  If the nipple size is concerning to you you can have them reduced in a relatively simple procedure. Nipple reduction is a surgical procedure where the nipple can be shortened and its circumference reduced with care to protect the milk ducts for future lactation.
From your photos, I note the presence of prominent nipples, relatively small breasts as well as minimal breast sag associated with the presence of stretch marks. Stretch marks indicate the presence of permanently damaged overstretched skin where the dermal elastic fibers have ruptured as the result of pregnancy or significant weight fluctuation resulting in the loss of elasticity. The skin will stretch over a greater area, predisposing to sagging.
Tubular (tuberous) breasts demonstrate large puffy areolae, wide spacing between the breasts, minimal breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal fold beneath the breasts, and a narrow breast base. Your breasts are not tubular.
You may wish to consider breast augmentation, perhaps with a minimal lift.

Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation, examination, and discussion.
