Do I need a uplift or just a straightforward BA? I'm worried about scars. (photos)

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for breast augmentation and should expect to reach your goals. This alone will be enough, you will not need a lift procedure. The exact size and shape of the implants can only be determined after measurements are taken by your plastic surgeon. You will probably have a resonably good result with breast implants only. This would be the right option for you, especially if you are very concerned about the scaring involved with the lift.

You might or not need an uplift. No surgeon can tell with certainty. If you have very large implants, they will stretch your breasts more, so I would be careful with that choice.
You could have implants first and accept the possibility of having droopiness. That could be fixed under a local anaesthetic procedure at a later date if needed. If they don't droop, then even better.
I would suggest to confirm this with your surgeon.

Breast implants alone may be enough to give you the look you desire depending on the volume and type of implant you go for.
If you do need a lift, you can opt for a minimal scar approach such as a crescentic or doughnut uplift where the scar is at the areolar border and fades away nicely.

Hello, thank you for your question. Sounds like it can be puzzling when you have many opinions and several technique options. There are many choices that can take place. You can also place the implants now and see how you like them. If you don't think you will want those scars then, you have answered the question on your own. Go with the plastic surgeon that you found to be on the same page as you and whom you feel comfortable with.

Thanks for your question! I think that you could probably do a breast augmentation without a lift depending on your goals and depending on the implant size. As you know, one breast is droopier than the other but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get a lovely result. Find the surgeon you are most comfortable with, whose B&A’s you like and who has quality reviews. Good luck!

They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. Your breasts are too low on the chest wall and widely separated. The technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed totally submuscular.

You are certainly borderline as far as needing a lift done. I suggest you consider the lollipop type lift. If gives any excellent shape and the scars heal very nicely. You're the perfect candidate for that procedure.

determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.
