31-year old female with rhinoplasty scar tissue, is a revision advised? (Photos)

Question

31 year female. Have had rhinoplasty almost two years ago and 3 rounds of steroid injections, plus taping. I am still dissatisfied with appearance from front on, as i feel it l lacks definition/refinement. My surgeon does not want to do anymore steroid injections due to risks of skin thinning. I wanted to ask for a second opinion on the appearance of my nose and whether a revision would be advised. Thankyou.

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars.

That said, and examination would be necessary to determine the feasibility of revision surgery for you. It would also be helpful if you could re-ask your question with frontal before and after photos to see what you started with and where things went. Hello. In the frontal view of your face, your nose looks really wide. I think too that there was no definition/refinement given during primary rhinoplasty. It looks like your nose has no nasal bridge. This time you should be more careful when choosing a surgeon for your revision rhinoplasty .
