What are my revision options to correct a short, upturned nose 6 months post op? (photos)

My nose is super short and upturned 6 months post rhinoplasty, i have a caudal graft in my tip, 4mm total was taken and my doctor used the let down method telling me it would drop by 6 months but it still 125-130 degrees and I have thin skin. Septo was performed so I won't have any left for revision

Hi @lbholthaus. I'm sorry you are not happy with your results thus far. You are still early on in your healing process--I recommend waiting 1 year for the nose to fully heal before you consider a revision rhinoplasty.

Hello! First of all thank you for your question.I have evaluated your case regarding the information you provided and your photos.Your short and upturned nose around 125-130 degrees doesn't fall after 6 months any more. Since the septum was harvested, you need a secondary rhinoplasty with cartilage reconstruction in order to lengthen the nose and downturn the tip nasolabial angle around 100 degrees.

A slight upturn of the nose after rhinoplasty is common and should not be of concern. This upturn is mostly due to swelling and should improve as this resolves... If revisions would be necessary, they should not be performed until a full year from surgery as changes can still occur and people heal at different rates.

A revision, if needed in 6 months, could correct the issue. Grafts can be made from rib or ear cartilage.
