Breast implant rippling and thin skin 1.5 years after surgery - is this normal and can it be fixed? (Photos)

I had breast augmentation surgery 1.5 years ago, and I can see and feel rippling. I do not have much body fat and lost a small amount of weight after my surgery. What is the likely cause of this, and is it normal?

Rippling in a slim patient is almost always due to thin soft tissue coverage over the implant, and your weight loss reduced that coverage further &mdash; it's not dangerous, just visible shell folding. Correction options include fat grafting over the rippled areas to thicken the tissue, exchanging to a more cohesive implant, or moving the implant under the muscle if it's currently above. Fat grafting is often the most natural and least invasive solution.

Thank you for your question, The likely cause of your rippling is a lack of adequate tissue and body fat to cover the implant, wich has become more noticeable due to your recent weight loss.

This a common and normal phenomenon, especially in thin patients but can be corrected if it bother you.

Why this is happening? Patients with very little natural breast tissue or subcutaneus fat do not have enough cusshion to hide the natural folds or edges of a implant.
