I’d like to eliminate the small excess bump of extra fat under my chin however I’m not sure if liposuction or a different outpatient approach would be appropriate. I’ve had consultation at “med spas” which have Kybella and different skin tightening treatments available. However, the waitlist for a plastic surgery consult at my medical center is quite long so I have admittedly not yet met with a plastic surgeon on this issue, but plan to do so. I’m 31 years old so I believe my skin laxity would still be enough for lipo. However, I don’t have a large amount of fat here and I’d like a conservative result. I’ve seen some commentary on celebrities who have emphasized platysmal bands due to (suspected) chin lipo as well as concerns about “trending” procedures which remove facial fat causing an unwanted aged appearance. Are the aesthetic risks worth the reward in this situation?

There are 2 types of chin reduction. Bony and soft tissue. If it is bony then a genioplasty can reduce it. If it is loose redundant bone tissue then a soft tissue chin reduction will help. See a doctor to figure out the correct diagnosis.
